Recently, it was revealed in a report of Money Control that a passenger alleged that he was physically assaulted by an Air India Express pilot. After this, the airline announced that it had ordered the removal of an employee from official duties. This follows the allegations of physical assault at Delhi’s Airport Terminal 1. Read on.
Air India Express Pilot Removed
As mentioned previously, a passenger, Ankit Dhawan, had publicly alleged on the microblogging site of X that he was assaulted by one of the pilots of the airline. He later identified the pilot and went on to further criticise the airline. He also questioned the fitness of the pilots and how they couldn’t maintain composure in such incidents. According to the report, the incident occurred when the passenger and his family were guided to use a security check-in lane, which is typically reserved for airport staff and passengers (who require special assistance)

As they were passing through the checkpoint, the pilot got angry and asked if they were illiterate and couldn’t read the signs, as they were passing through the area. The passenger later alleged that he was left bleeding after a physical altercation that followed. Following this, his seven-year-old daughter, who had seen the entire incident, was left traumatised. He ended up sharing pictures on social media, showing blood on his face and clothes.

He Details The Ordeal On Viral Post On X
As it happens, the incident had left their family holiday ruined, and he later also claimed that he was forced to write a letter stating that he would not pursue the matter further. After this, he was told that he would miss his flight and lose holiday bookings worth about ₹1.2 lakhs if he refused.
Following this incident, the airline responded to his post on X with an apology and showed their regret regarding the incident. They also mentioned how the concerned employee had been removed from official duties with immediate effect and that appropriate action would be taken after a thorough investigation.
