“A Place Of Survival Not Growth,” Indian Woman Reveals Why She Is Leaving London After 10 Yrs

There are many examples of Indians leaving their homeland for greener pastures. But for Pallavi Chhibber, after having lived in London for 10 years, she and her family have reached a point in their lives where it’s time to bid goodbye to the city. To explain the reasons for this difficult decision, Pallavi shared a reel on Instagram, which gathered steam in no time.

Indian Entrepreneur Moves Away From London Due To High Cost Of Living

Entrepreneur Pallavi Chhibber took to her Instagram handle (@pallschhibber) to announce her and her family’s difficult decision of leaving London after a decade. She reasons that the UK capital is a city that facilitates survival. not growth. So, she and her husband can’t see long-term opportunities for growth anymore.

The next reason she gives is that London has become “obnoxiously expensive”. She gives an example of a family dinner at Dishoom, an iconic Indian restaurant in the city. The family ordered Aloo Chaat, Fried Okra, Jackfruit and Chicken Biryani, and they ended up paying a bill of 80 GBP (₹9525 approx).

She adds, “Half your salary goes to the government.” In her caption, Pallavi writes that the decision wasn’t easy. But she can’t ignore reality, as many of her friends are struggling too, and she is a hardcore London girl after all. The mother empathises with her 16-year-old, who has to start fresh in a completely new school. Now that life has given them an opportunity to shift, she decided to grab on to it.
