Birthdays feel incomplete without cakes. And what better than a homemade cake baked by a loved one? That’s not us, but filmmaker Kiran Rao, who felt this way. On her “farmaaish” (request), her and Aamir Khan’s son, Azad, baked a delicious bundt cake on her birthday. What followed was the doting son’s birthday gift for his mother.
Azad Bakes Chocolate Coffee Bundt Cake For Mom Kiran Rao
Laapataa Ladies filmmaker Kiran Rao shared a cute birthday post on Instagram handle, thanking her loved ones for the wishes. But what was the cherry on the cake was her son, Azad’s delicious homemade gift for her. Her caption read, “Thank you thank you for all your lovely wishes on my birthday! Now I’m just going to go off and eat that yummy coffee chocolate cake which my son baked for me (my farmaaish)…”
The proud and grateful mother shared a stream of pictures of Azad baking a Chocolate Coffee Bundt Cake from scratch. The first picture has the bespectacled child posing with his cake creation. The next one has Aamir Khan’s son gearing up for a kitchen saga with his baking gloves. The third image shows the eager boy placing the bundt cake tin filled with batter in the oven.

A Drool-Worthy Birthday Gift By The Young Baker
Kiran Rao also posted a video of Azad tapping the cake tin lightly before opening it and cooling the cake. One of the most drool-worthy behind-the-scenes cake snippets is the young baker pouring hot chocolate glaze over the bundt cake. With the eye on the prize and total focus, he pours the chocolate glaze over the cake till it covers the cake. Next, he dusts cocoa powder over it as a topping.
The last picture of the post is the most special one. Birthday gal, Kiran Rao, cut her son’s homemade cake, Chocolate Coffee Cake, during the celebration, and fed Azad a piece. In the comments section, her well-wishers praised Azad and the delicious creation, baked for his mother. TV host, anchor and cookbook author, Maria Goretti wrote, “And that boy of yours is bloody talented, what a beautiful cake.”
