Just a few days after the inauguration, the Hebbal Flyover Loop in Bengaluru is already receiving mixed reactions online. An X user recently shared an aerial video of the flyover during peak hour, which showed vehicles lodged in traffic despite the new infrastructure in place. Here’s what netizens are saying.
Bengaluru’s Newly Inaugurated Hebbal Flyover Loop Goes Viral
The Hebbal Flyover Loop, a 700-metre structure, was recently inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru. As per a report by Hindustan Times, the new loop was built at a cost of ₹80 crore. It was expected to reduce congestion and significantly improve the commute at one of the city’s busiest junctions.
However, an X user, @sriharikaranth, recently shared an aerial video of the newly inaugurated junction during peak hour and wrote, “The Hebbal junction during peak hour after the inauguration of the new flyover!” The video showed long lines of vehicles moving slowly despite the new flyover. The clip, which has now garnered over 30,000 views, has drawn criticism from netizens.

Netizens Say, “Nothing Has Changed”
One user expressed that traffic is becoming worse and wrote, “Traffic is soon hitting my neighbourhood more than I imagined. We urgently need alternative backup roads before the situation gets out of hand.”
Another user shared a similar opinion and added, “No change, build how many flyovers or underpasses, finally only solution is mass transport systems.” One X user posted an image of heavy traffic near the loop and commented, “Nothing has changed, this is at around 11.30 am yesterday.”
As per the report by HT, the Hebbal junction connects commuters travelling towards Kempegowda International Airport, the northern suburbs, and key IT corridors in Bengaluru. It is also part of the government’s plan to ease congestion across the city with upgraded infrastructure and revamped junctions. Despite the inauguration, a few Netizens remained dissatisfied and are demanding more reliable solutions to Bengaluru’s traffic woes.
