But the cons of ingesting white sugar are known yet wilfully ignored during the festive season. If you, too, are struggling to make healthier mithai and snack choices, then Swiggy has come to the rescue. India’s beloved food delivery platform, Swiggy, has launched a ‘No Added Sugar’ category to help you make healthier choices effortlessly.

Swiggy Introduces ‘No Added Sugar’ Category This Diwali

Head to the Swiggy app, and you’ll notice a new ‘No Added Sugar’ category right at the top. India’s on-demand convenience platform now has a laser-eyed focus on healthy food. And this focus starts with the launch of a new category ahead of Diwali, a time when mithai has its moment. Swiggy’s new ‘No Added Sugar’ category is designed to make healthy and mindful eating more accessible and simpler for consumers.

With an array of no-sugar mithai and snack options available, customers can choose from up to 1.5 lakh food items from 50,000 restaurants across select cities. The No Sugar Category is now live across 7 cities, namely Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad. This feature will expand to more cities in the coming weeks.

20,000 Ice Creams & 12,000 Juice Options Available In This Category

In July this year, Swiggy launched a High Protein category, and now the online food delivery giant has introduced its new category of food items devoid of sugar just in time for desis ready to cheat on their diets. Under the ‘No Added Sugar’ category, there are 2 sub-categories —’Naturally Sweetened’ and ‘Not Sweetened’.

Consumers can find food items like ice creams, pastries, Indian mithai, coffee, tea, and more without any sugar in the Non-Sweetened sub-category. Under the Naturally Sweetened sub-category, they can order food items and beverages sweetened with dates, purees and whole fruits. These include Banana Pancakes, Fig & Almond Energy Bars, Apple Cinnamon Oats, Date & Nut Smoothie and more.

This selection includes 7000 cakes, 12,000 juices, 20,000 ice creams and 10,000 hot beverages available across 10 cities. Do note that highly processed sweeteners, honey, jaggery, sucrose and free sugars have been excluded.
