Air India Cancels Colombo To Chennai Flight
According to The Economic Times, an Air India flight from Colombo to Chennai was called off after the aircraft suffered a bird hit. The incident occurred on October 7, and thankfully, the aircraft landed without any issue. All 158 passengers on board were safely disembarked from the plane, the airline said in a statement.
As per reports, the plane was grounded following the incident as a safety precaution. As per airport authorities, the bird hit was detected after it touched down at the airport in Chennai. Extensive checks are being carried out by Air India and airport engineers. The airline also decided to cancel its return journey due to the incident and arranged for an alternative flight for the passengers.

Here’s What The Airline Said
Air India issued a statement addressing the cancellation of the return flight on the Chennai-Colombo route. They said, “On 7 October, the flight crew of AI273 operating from Chennai to Colombo, reported a suspected bird strike. After landing at Colombo, the engineers who inspected the aircraft found no damage, and the aircraft was cleared for operation. The same aircraft operated flight AI274 from Colombo to Chennai as per schedule. Upon routine post-flight checks at Chennai, the engineers observed an impact on an engine blade. Consequently, the aircraft has been grounded for further inspections and to ascertain the cause of the damage.”
