Air India Group will commence flights from NMIA in the initial phase of the airport’s operations. Navi Mumbai International Airport will be the second international airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., Air India Group will be among the first to operate from here.

Air India Express will begin with 20 (40 Air Traffic Movements) daily departures to over 15 Indian cities. The number will gradually rise to 55 (110 ATMs) daily departures, including 5 international flights, by mid-2026, and further expand to 60(120 ATMs) daily departures by winter 2026. This expansion will strengthen NMIA’s role in improving connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. In addition to that, this will also help the airport establish itself as a key domestic and international aviation hub.

Talking about this, Campbell Wilson, CEO and MD of Air India, said, “We look forward to commencing operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport, as Mumbai joins the league of world cities with more than one airport. We are happy to work with Adani Airports to build NMIA not only as a point that connects to the rest of India, but also as one of the country’s key global transit hubs for both passengers and cargo, given its strategic geographical location.”

Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., stated, “We are delighted to welcome Air India Group to Navi Mumbai International Airport as one of our valued airline partners. Their ambitious expansion plans and global vision are perfectly aligned with our aim of making NMIA a benchmark in global aviation.”

He further added, “This partnership will redefine Mumbai’s connectivity landscape and strengthen India’s twin-airport strategy. NMIA’s adoption of technology for enhancing efficiency and best-in-class experience for passengers will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless and superior passenger journeys for decades to come.”
