Akasa Air Goa-Delhi Flight Faces 90-Min Delay After Two Passengers Misbehave With Crew

An Akasa Air flight faced turmoil when two passengers allegedly misbehaved with the cabin crew members. The untoward incident on the flight led to a two-hour delay and the offloading of the miscreants. The incident happened during the placement of cabin luggage in the overhead compartments.

Akasa Air Offloads Two Passengers For Misbehaviour With Crew

As per a report by India Today, Akasa Air flight QP 1358 flying from Goa to Delhi faced an unexpected disruption in regular operation caused by two passengers. The travellers, Anup Bharghava and Chandan Mishra, boarded the flight and were placing their cabin luggage in the overhead compartment. A cabin crew member, Abhinav, was helping passengers with their luggage. That’s when the duo sharply objected to Abhinav helping them with their luggage.

Anup and Chandan sharply told the crew member not touch their bag. Abhinav explained to them that he was only doing his duty to ensure the safety and convenience of all passengers. However, the situation on the Akasa Air flight escalated in no time. Anup Bharghava allegedly became very aggressive and started verbally abusing the crew member.

Scuffle Started Due To Cabin Luggage Handling

The India Today report mentions that he asked the crew member if he was acting like a goon. The situation became so heated that Bharghava even pushed the cabin member, despite his apology to the two passengers. Due to this misconduct, the Akasa Air crew offloaded the two fliers. Bharghava refused to leave the aircraft. He made several calls to people. But passengers intervened and assertively told him to exist. The entire disruption caused a 1.5-hour flight delay.

An announcement was made by the cabin crew to inform passengers about the deboarding of the miscreants. Akasa Air later put out a statement reacting to the incident. The airline stated that the comfort and well-being of its passengers and crew remains its top priority.
