Recently, photos of the Konkan region during the monsoon caught his attention, and he spoke about the underrated destination and said its beauty is “awaiting appreciation.”
Anand Mahindra In Awe Of Konkan’s Beauty
From futuristic tech and scientific breakthroughs to travel and culture, Anand Mahindra’s social media feed is a blend of everything he’s passionate about. And he is back with his #SundayWanderer series, with a focus on Maharashtra’s Konkan region this time. The billionaire reposted a series of pictures of Konkan shared by Sandesh Samant on X (formerly Twitter).
In the original post, Sandesh noted, “Maharashtra is so underrated and we have created no infrastructure for tourism.” While Anand Mahindra agreed with the underrated part, he had his own two cents to share. He said, “I wouldn’t agree that we created NO infrastructure. He may have said that in order to be emphatic. But his intentions are good and his statement applies to our entire country.”
For him, India is full of stunning places that are waiting to be unearthed and recognised. He added that the landscapes of the country are breathtaking, underappreciated, and waiting for travellers’ acknowledgement.
According to him, India has “breathtakingly beautiful landscapes” and they are “all underrated and all waiting for our appreciation…”
Here’s What Netizens Have To Say About The Post
The Konkan region is stunningly beautiful, and the monsoon season just adds to its beauty. With each raindrop, the rolling green hills, waterfalls, and rivers become even more majestic! And Anand Mahindra’s post about Konkan’s beauty has caught the attention of thousands of netizens. While some shared recommendations of places that are beautiful and underrated, others argued that the lack of infrastructure has probably saved the sanctity of these destinations.
“Most infrastructure activities would come with a lot of commercialisation and pose threats such as pressure on limited resources, littering, as we still lack basic etiquette. We should respect the locals there and develop infrastructure which helps them and not just for profiteering,” one netizen commented.
Another user resonated with this thought and said, “It is beautiful because there is no infrastructure. Let it be like that.”
Sharing pictures of Dzukou Valley on the Border of Manipur & Nagaland, one netizen said, “The way we are building a concrete jungle & destroying biodiversity, I am happy there is no infrastructure.”
“India hides more beauty than brochures will ever show,” one user wisely said.
