“Aunty, All Okay?” IndiGo Flight Attendant Shows Kindness Beyond Duty To Help 72-YO Woman

Showing kindness towards others can go a long way. Helping someone when they need it not only makes us feel better but can also leave an impact on others. This is exactly what happened on a recent IndiGo flight. An attendant stepped in to help an elderly woman who had injured her wrist just before boarding. Later, the woman’s son took to LinkedIn to share the incident and thank the cabin crew member for her kindness. Here’s what happened.

IndiGo Flight Attendant Helps Injured Elderly Woman

A LinkedIn post is going viral where Neel Ghose, a professional from Delhi, shared a very heartwarming incident. According to the post, his 72-year-old mother was travelling to Pune when she slipped before boarding her flight at Kolkata airport. She briefly lost consciousness. Doctors later confirmed that the injury was a fracture.

She was on her way to meet her granddaughter after months. Instead of visiting a doctor immediately, she decided to board the flight. Neel wrote, “Not the most rational decision, but Mumma has always been a tough cookie.” Once onboard, the 72-year-old received extraordinary care. According to Neel’s post, the cabin attendant “went above and beyond” her duties.

She made a sling using the woman’s shawl to support her injured arm. She also brought dry ice for relief and shifted her to a more comfortable seat. The attendant checked on her every 15 minutes, gently asking, “Aunty, all okay?” The crew member was later identified as Debopriya Barman.

Crew Member Responds To The Post

The flight attendant may not have been required to do any of this, but her actions showed that human kindness still goes beyond day-to-day job duties. Neel wrote that Debopriya’s care also lifted his mother’s spirits during the flight. The physician who later examined her said the sling was so well-made that it likely prevented further damage to her wrist.

Debopriya later found the post and commented on it. She wrote, “Hey, I hope Aunty is doing better now.” She also added that she only did what she could with the limited resources available and that seeing the post “made her day.” LinkedIn users could not stop commenting on the post. One user wrote, “A truly heartwarming reminder that empathy makes all the difference.” Another added, “This story warms the heart.”
