According to a report by The Tribune, the Uttar Pradesh government stated that nearly 23 crore people visited Ayodhya between January and June 2025. The numbers increased further in the second half of the year. This sharp rise in footfall has turned Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir into one of the world’s most visited spiritual destinations.
You would be surprised to know that visitors were not just from India. Large numbers of tourists have also arrived from the United States, Europe, Russia, and several Asian countries. Reportedly, the UP government has linked the increase in the number of tourists to improved local infrastructure, international-standard hotels, and amazing hospitality services. With its deep cultural importance, many devotees now believe that the Ram Mandir truly deserves the title of the eighth Wonder of the World.

Ram Mandir Surpasses Taj Mahal In Tourist Numbers
In 2024, the Ram Mandir emerged as Uttar Pradesh’s top tourist attraction. According to a report by The Times of India, it even surpassed the Taj Mahal, which is recognised as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Ayodhya is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, which is why it holds great religious importance in India.
The temple’s grand architecture and intricate carvings continue to attract visitors from India and abroad. The Ram Mandir has been built in the traditional Nagara style of North Indian temple architecture. Its construction also marked a historic moment for the country. As per a report by Business Today, Ayodhya’s tourism economy is expected to generate nearly ₹18,000 crore by 2028, with the Ram Mandir being the main reason behind this growth.
