Bengaluru folks, we have some good news! The city metro is gearing up for the launch of its much-awaited Namma Metro Pink Line, which promises to make commuting across the city faster and more convenient. The new line will significantly improve connectivity in the city, easing travel for thousands of daily commuters. Here’s everything you need to know about its opening date, key stations, and route details.
Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Likely To Open By May 2026
According to Hindustan Times, the first phase of Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is expected to open by May 2026. The 21-km upcoming line will connect Kalena Agrahara and Nagawara, and the construction work is likely to be completed by next year. This new metro line is being hailed as one of Bengaluru’s most complex metro projects, featuring several underground sections and advanced engineering to navigate the city’s dense urban landscape.
The new Namma Metro line will have a 2.5-km elevated section. This section has been constructed between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere (Swagath Cross Road). Furthermore, Bengaluru Metro Pink Line will also feature a 13.76-km underground stretch. Also, Bengaluru’s longest tunnel, which is part of the underground section of this line, will be launched by December 2026.
It is to be noted that other metro lines in Bengaluru have experienced several delays in the past. While the Yellow Line was delayed by over two years, the Green Line became operational after almost five years of delay.
