Goa is not just about beaches. It is also home to many temples. To promote that, the Goa government has officially launched an 11-temple pilgrimage circuit called the “Ekadasha Teertha Yatra”. Here’s everything you need to know about this.

Goa Government Pilgrimage Circuit For 11 Temples In The State

The Ekadasha Teertha Yatra by the Goa government has finally been rolled out, with 27 women visiting four prominent temples in Goa in a single day. According to ThePrint, under this new initiative to promote spiritual and religious sites in Goa, the state tourism department is also offering a 50% concession to senior citizens.

Reportedly, the tour was flagged off recently from the Shree Mahadev Temple at Tambdi Surla (Kushavati District). It covered Shree Devkikrishna Devasthan at Marcel, Shree Mahaganapati Devasthan at Khandola and Shree Anant Devasthan at Savoi-Verem. All these temples are in North Goa.

Goa’s New Initiative Aims To Promote Spiritual Tourism

According to ThePrint, this initiative aims to make Goa’s spiritual and cultural heritage more accessible. Most of the people who travel to Goa often visit just the beaches, but this will make them want to visit the temples in the state, too. Moreover, this initiative also reflects the government’s vision of presenting a more holistic experience of Goa by highlighting its centuries-old traditions, historic temples and heritage.

The Ekadasha Teertha Yatra has been specially designed to offer people an organised and curated experience of the state’s cultural heritage.
