Can you imagine cooking your food with a heat rod? Sounds weird, right? Recently, a video has been going viral that shows a content creator cooking a meal using a heat rod. The video humorously reflected the ongoing LPG crisis. Read on for more information about the video.
Creator Cooks Using Heat Rod Amid LPG Crisis
An Instagram creator, Himank Vasudeva (@vasudevahimank), took to his account to share his hilarious take on the current situation around the LPG shortage. In the video, a steel pot sat on the kitchen counter, filled with a yellow gravy filled with vegetables. But instead of a gas flame underneath, the source of heat came from a heat rod. The same metal immersion rod is usually used to heat water. The rod was dipped directly into the pot, with its coils half submerged in the liquid.

The video reflected the ongoing situation where several parts of India have been facing LPG shortages, linked to the Middle East conflict.
Social Media Reacts To The Viral Video
As soon as the creator posted the video, it went viral with mixed reactions from all over India. While some appreciated the cooking hack, others trolled the creator for using such an unhygienic and risky way to cook the food.
A few of the users wrote “So innovative”, “space technology”, and “100% brain unlocked” and even questioned, “Is gravy ko khana hai ya isse nahana hai?”
Others also made fun of the video and stated, “Induction crying in the corner.” And another wrote, “Bhai, isse acha induction use karo na.”
One user also opposed the idea and wrote, “Yuk. Immersion rods are designed for heating water for bathing or cleaning, not for direct food preparation, and they are generally not approved for culinary use. This can cause severe stomach infections.”

Another wrote, “Don’t eat food cooked in this style. This heater leaves residue after using for a while, so think before you act and always cook food on gas or in our primary Indian style by burning wood.”
