“City Of Waterfalls”: Viral Video Of Water Dripping From Newly Inaugurated Hebbal Flyover In Bengaluru Amuses Netizens

Hebbal Flyover Bengaluru

A video showing water dripping from Bengaluru’s newly inaugurated Hebbal Flyover is going viral. Many netizens have sarcastically taken a jibe at the city’s infrastructure and maintenance, leading to widespread backlash. Here’s more on this.

Bengaluru’s Hebbal Flyover Turns Into A ‘Waterfall’

Bengaluru is notorious for its traffic, and authorities frequently announce measures to ease congestion. The Hebbal Flyover is one such project. As per The New Indian Express, it is a 700-metre loop inaugurated last month by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. It was expected to reduce congestion at the Hebbal junction by nearly 30%.

However, an X user, @bengalurupost1, recently posted a video showing water dripping from the flyover, likely after rainfall. The user captioned the post, “Experience the new free waterfall spot at Hebbal. All are welcome”. The 13-second clip shows water falling from various sections of the flyover as vehicles pass underneath. The video naturally drew not only backlash but also criticism aimed at the authorities.

Netizens Flood Comments Section With Sarcastic Reactions

One user wrote, “From Garden City to City of Lakes, Now City of Waterfalls. What a great transformation, Namma Bengaluru.” Another made a funny jibe at the infrastructure, saying, “Is this the brand new flyover loop which has metal parts for no reason? Thankfully, it’s just water that can’t cause corrosion to Gold.” Another noted that water was dripping only from the sides, adding, “Lol, here it’s just in the sides. Come to Nayandahalli Underpass, 2-wheeler riders get free Bath showers organised by BBMP after rainfall in the city.” One user wrote, “Quality test done by Rain sir on the new ramp sir,” and honestly, this one made us laugh.

One user even compared Bengaluru to Singapore, sarcastically calling this a “futuristic” flyover. Many others shared similar sarcastic remarks about the incident. On a serious note, Bengaluru’s infrastructure has long faced questions about its maintenance. Authorities must address these issues to prevent such situations.
