Cleaner Sweeps Platform At Dadar Station But Tosses Bottles On Tracks; Netizens: “Bizarre”

Mumbai Dadar Station

A video is now going viral from Dadar Station in Mumbai. The clip shows a man cleaning the platform, but instead of throwing the bottles in a dustbin, he casually throws them onto the railway tracks. The video has sparked discussions online, with netizens questioning the authorities about cleanliness at stations. Here’s what happened.

Cleaner Caught Throwing Bottles On Tracks At Dadar Station, Mumbai

When it comes to platform cleaning at railway stations, there is a simple way: if there is trash on the platform, the cleaner picks it up and throws it in a dustbin. But a video posted by X user @singhvarun shows something else. The clip shows a man cleaning the platform but carelessly throwing plastic bottles from the trash onto the railway tracks.

Varun questioned the logic behind it and also tagged the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Mumbai Central Railway, asking for clarification regarding cleaning at the platform in Dadar station. He also wrote, “I don’t know what kind of cleanliness drive @drmmumbaicr has asked his men to follow at Dadar station. I noticed this man allegedly cleaning the platform, throwing bottles on the track and sweeping the platform. He picked them up from the dustbin and threw them on the tracks.

Netizens React To Bizarre Cleanliness Drive

Just under the post, Varun shared another video showing a boy coming onto the railway tracks to collect the plastic bottles. He sarcastically questioned the cleanliness drive and wrote, “Ok, he threw the bottles on the tracks so that this man can come minutes later and collect them, wah.”

Netizens were surprised by this unusual cleanliness drive at the railway station. One of them wrote, “bizarre”, because why would one cleaner deliberately throw trash on the railway track for another cleaner to pick up? Another X user wrote, “Take strict action against this guy.” Many users also asked Varun why he didn’t confront the cleaner directly. One user highlighted that the authorities might have hired another cleaner just to collect water bottles from the platforms.
