“Concerning Issue,” Creator Shares Why Bengaluru Weather Feels Like Delhi These Days

Bengaluru Weather

Bengaluru has turned into Delhi. The changing weather in the city and the rising temperature are making it feel more like the capital instead of the Garden City. Many videos are now going viral on social media talking about this dramatic weather shift. And honestly, the reasons behind it might just make you think about what is really happening.

Why Is There A Sudden Change In Bengaluru’s Weather?

If you live in Bengaluru, you might already be aware of how the city is feeling extra hot these days. Bengaluru used to stay pleasant, but now it has drastically changed its weather pattern. One Instagram user @varun__padmanabhan took to his account to share his thoughts on why this might be happening. He says, “I have lived in Bengaluru for 10 years and never once thought of buying a cooler or an AC. But now, there are no coolers to even rent on RentoMojo. I had to literally get one of my friends to port it to Yelahanka like it was some sort of emergency supply drop.”

Varun also shares his views on why Bengaluru’s weather is changing, and many people seem to agree with him. According to him, Bengaluru has lost nearly 88% of its green cover since the 1970s due to urbanisation. He says the city has “replaced shade with heat”. Bengaluru also used to have over 1,000 lakes, which helped keep the city cool. But now there is less water, less cooling, and more “lake-view apartments” instead.

Bengaluru Residents Agree With The Factors

The third factor, according to him, is the urban heat island effect. Tech parks, roads, and concrete structures absorb heat throughout the day. This heat can go up to 60°C on surfaces and is released back into the air at night. This is why even Bengaluru nights now feel hot and uncomfortable. He ends the video by saying that everything that once kept the city cool has now been replaced with things that make it hotter.

Many netizens, especially Bengaluru residents, agreed with his points. One user jokingly wrote, “Bro, the sun genuinely feels like a laser because of the dry heat.” One user compared Bengaluru’s heat with Mumbai’s weather.  A third comment read, “Hurts my soul to see my city turn into this.” Another user added, “People have been saying this for years. This is an actual concerning issue.”
