British Etiquette Coach Shows “Proper Way” To Eat French Fries
Be it a croissant, a burger, or even a banana, no food has escaped the attention of British etiquette coach William Hanson. Watching his Instagram videos often makes us wonder: Were we really eating bananas wrong? Or are we holding our wine glass correctly? According to William Hanson, there is always a proper way to do things. Netizens often find his videos hilarious and comment with sarcastic remarks.
Now, William Hanson has uploaded another video on Instagram (@williamhanson) showing how to eat chips, or French fries. You might think these finger foods are simple to eat: pick them up, dip them in sauce, and enjoy. But apparently, we have been doing it wrong! According to him, French fries are not finger food in formal dining. He says, “We are not going to pick them up, dunk and eat them.” Instead, he decants a few fries from the bucket onto a plate and eats them with a fork and knife. He captioned the video, “I’m *not* sorry about being correct about this one though!”
Netizens React To The Video With Hilarious Comments
Just like us, many netizens were amused by his etiquette rules for French fries. In a normal setting, French fries are comfort food for millions of people worldwide. We usually pick them up and eat while waiting for our burgers at a restaurant, right?
One Instagram user commented, “Decanting the fries is diabolical,” while another added, “Kindly take those fries away from him,” and honestly, this one made us laugh. Another user shared the same thought, writing, “Cutting french fries should be considered a crime.” Someone else added, “I finally figured out who your target audience is: people who are eating lunch with the King of England.” One user jokingly said, “I don’t even think Queen Elizabeth herself ate fries like that.”
Do you think the British royals also eat their French fries like this? Despite the sarcastic comments, William Hanson has over 3 million followers on Instagram and is quite popular on social media.
