Delhi Metro’s Central Secretariat Station To Undergo A Major Change
The Delhi Metro network is set to undergo a major change. Central Secretariat station will soon become the city’s newest and most important triple interchange metro hub. DMRC announced the update on its official X page. According to the authorities, this move will significantly improve commuter convenience across the capital. Moreover, the decision to convert the Central Secretariat into a triple interchange hub has been taken under Phase 5A, along with the upcoming Magenta Line expansion.
As per a report by India TV, the change is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and lower dependence on private vehicles in Central Delhi once it materialises. Currently, the Central Secretariat station serves as an interchange between the Yellow Line and the Violet Line. Nearly two lakh commuters use the station daily, along with around 60,000 employees working in nearby government offices.
