Tunnel Planned Between IGI Airport In Delhi And Noida Airport
Commercial flight operations at Noida International Airport in Jewar will officially start on June 15, 2026. And now, authorities are planning a tunnel between this new airport and the IGI Airport in Delhi. According to NDTV, the plan is still in its early stages, and a feasibility study is being conducted. The proposed tunnel will reduce traffic and ensure faster travel between Delhi and Noida.
Moreover, authorities are also planning to extend the tunnel to Gurugram in the future. Reportedly, the NHAI has divided the project into two phases. In the first phase, a feasibility study has been initiated for the tunnel from Talkatora Stadium to Gurugram via IGI Airport.
In the second phase, studies will be conducted to extend the tunnel route from Talkatora Stadium to Sarai Kale Khan. Here, the tunnel will connect to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, providing direct connectivity to Noida International Airport via the Chandawali-Jewar link road.
