With rapid modernisation, enhanced connectivity, and a focus on passenger comfort, India’s railway infrastructure is evolving! The newest example of this is the new Amrit Bharat Express train that will run between Delhi and Sitamarhi, Bihar. To boost connectivity and make travel pocket-friendly, this new route will be flagged off on August 8, and here’s all you need to know about it.
New Amrit Bharat Express To Roll Out Between Delhi & Bihar’s Sitamarhi
According to The Indian Express, Bihar will get another Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Delhi and Sitamarhi. According to the East Central Railway’s (ECR) statement, the train will be flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Punaura Dham, Sitamarhi, through video conferencing.
Right now, there are 14 Amrit Bharat Express trains running across India. Some of the routes functional in Bihar are–Darbhanga to Anand Vihar Terminal, Anand Vihar Terminal to Darbhanga, Mumbai LTT-Saharsa, Saharsa to Mumbai LTT, Rajendra Nagar Terminal to New Delhi, New Delhi to Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Darbhanga to Gomti Nagar, Gomti Nagar to Darbhanga, Malda Town to Gomti Nagar, Gomti Nagar to Malda Town, Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal and Anand Vihar Terminal to Bapudham Motihari.
Speed, Frequency & Time Table
The new Delhi-Sitamarhi Amrit Bharat Express can run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph. As per reports, the train is expected to operate once a week. It will depart from Delhi to Sitamarhi every Saturday. The return leg will operate every Sunday.
The train will begin its journey at 2 PM from Delhi and will reach Sitamarhi at 10:45 AM on Sunday. On the return journey, the Amrit Bharat Express train will leave Sitamarhi at 10:15 PM on Sunday. It will reach Delhi at 10:40 PM on Monday.
Route, Stoppages & Travel Time
The Delhi-Sitamarhi Amrit Bharat Express will stop at the following railway stations –
1. Ghaziabad
2. Tundla
3. Kanpur
4. Lucknow
5. Gonda
6. Basti
7. Gorakhpur
8. Kaptanganj
9. Siswa Bazar
10. Bagaha
11. Narkatiaganj
12. Raxaul
13. Bairgania
The train will cover a distance of approximately 1,100 km in 20 hours and 45 minutes.
