Delhiites had been suffering from hot days, and the heat honestly got unbearable. But sudden rain in Delhi and its surrounding areas on the afternoon of April 30 provided much-needed relief. Delhi Weather: Rain & Hail Hits The City

The skies of Delhi turned grey on the afternoon of April 30. The capital and its adjoining areas experienced a sudden change in weather, which made many Delhiites rejoice. The city had been reeling under heatwave-like conditions for a long time, and the stormy weather came as a pleasant surprise. The city saw rain along with a hailstorm. Many videos went viral on social media, showing ice pellets falling outside homes and offices. However, the city remains under a yellow alert for now.

According to News9 Live, the India Meteorological Department has issued alerts across Delhi-NCR. Residents can expect rain and thunderstorms on the evening of April 30. Moreover, a dust storm is also expected over the next 48 hours. According to NDTV, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.4°C on April 30. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36°C.

IMD Advises Residents To Take Caution

According to NDTV, Delhi’s skies will be clear on May 1 and May 2. But residents can expect rain and thunderstorms after May 3. The weather is expected to change suddenly. As per a report by Mathrubhumi English, the IMD has indicated that weather changes can bring strong winds and rain across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. People are advised to take extra precautions.

Not just Delhi, even Bengaluru’s weather flipped within a day. The city had been experiencing rising temperatures, but on April 29, a powerful hailstorm and pre-monsoon rain lashed the city. The rains caused widespread damage, clogged roads, and even damaged around 5,000 books at The Bookworm bookstore on Church Street.
