In a recent development, a Doha-bound Air India Express flight was forced to return to Calicut International Airport on Wednesday, two hours after its departure. The airline has now cited a technical fault in the cabin AC as the main reason. An alternate flight was arranged to minimise inconvenience caused to the waiting passengers.
Air India Express Doha-Bound Flight Returns Mid-Air Due to Technical Fault
Air India Express Calicut-Doha flight IX 375 was carrying 188 passengers, including pilots and cabin crew, when it was forced to return to Calicut International Airport or Kozhikode International Airport, just two hours after take-off. As per a report by Mint, the flight took off at around 9:07 am but landed back safely at 11:12 am after the crew noticed a technical fault mid-air.
Reportedly, an airport official also confirmed the news and stated that the fault was linked to the aircraft’s cabin air-conditioning system. All passengers were safely disembarked upon landing. The airline spokesperson added that it was just a “precautionary landing” to ensure everyone’s safety.

Airline Arranged Alternative Aircraft For Passengers
As per a report by Mint, the airline officials acted promptly to manage the disruption and minimise inconvenience to the passengers. They immediately arranged an alternative aircraft to resume the journey. Furthermore, passengers were provided with refreshments during the delay. The replacement flight was arranged and scheduled to depart at 1:30 pm.
Arrangements for food and water were also made for all passengers. Airport officials also confirmed that the aircraft engineers would inspect the faulty plane and carry out necessary repairs to fix the issue. The airline also assured that passenger safety is one of their top priorities.

After a mid-air scare due to a technical snag, passengers may have felt frightened. Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely without any injuries reported. The airline’s swift response and precautionary measures helped avoid further complications.
