The latest episode of MasterChef India, judged by Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Kunal Kapur, and Chef Ranveer Brar, brought one of the most breathtaking dishes of the season. It all started with Simran Vohra, who turned pakoras, a popular Indian snack, into an edible rangoli.

Simran Vohra Reimagines Pakoras As Edible Rangoli On MasterChef India

Contestant Simran Vohra transformed this common Indian snack into something entirely unexpected in the most recent episode. She didn’t just cook pakoras, she designed them like an edible rangoli. Carefully placed, thoughtfully coloured, and visually stunning, the plate looked less like food and more like a piece of art you’d hesitate to touch.

Now, pakoras are one of those foods that almost everyone loves. They’re crunchy, spicy, and perfect for dipping into chutney. Normally, you’d just grab one, dunk it in the chutney, and eat it. But Simran did something completely different. She presented the pakoras like an edible rangoli. Yes, the same colourful, intricate patterns that decorate floors during festivals in India. The plate looks more like a work of art than a snack because each pakora and chutney was thoughtfully and creatively arranged.

The moment the dish came out, it stopped everyone in their tracks. Instead of instantly reaching for the pakoras, you’d pause and admire the colours, shapes, and patterns. It was playful, creative, and absolutely mesmerising. It was art that made you want to look, take a photo, and then carefully enjoy it.

The Pakora Plate That Won MasterChef Hearts

Simran shared her excitement on Instagram. She said that this episode was all about showing flair, and for her, flair has always been connected to art. Growing up, making rangolis in school was something she loved. So she decided to take a huge risk: “Who makes pakoras on MasterChef?” she said. But her risk paid off beautifully.

The chefs were stunned. Chef Ranveer Brar said this dish would go viral, adding that it reflects the intricate art traditions of India. Chef Vikas Khanna called it a “pure work of art”, while Chef Kunal Kapur encouraged Simran to carry the same creativity forward in her journey on the show. Chef Ranveer couldn’t stop praising the chutney presentation, saying nobody in the world has presented chutney like this before. He even predicted that thousands of people would try to recreate this edible rangoli in the coming week.

The beauty of this dish lies in how it shows that ordinary things can become extraordinary with a little creativity and feeling. A basic pakora that everyone finds familiar all of a sudden takes on a magical, playful, and unforgettable character.

This episode is about more than just cooking; it’s about seeing food through the eyes of an artist.
