If you are planning a trip to Egypt soon, you may have to pay a slightly higher visa-on-arrival fee, following the country’s recent revision. But does this apply to Indian travellers? Read on for more information about the revised fee.

Egypt Revises Its Visa-On-Arrival Fee

As per a report by NDTV, the change in visa applies to international visitors who are eligible for visas issued at the airport and is part of Egypt’s efforts to raise entry charges amid rising tourist numbers. However, the update does not impact Indian passport holders, who are required to obtain a visa in advance and are not under the standard visa-on-arrival category.

As per a report by Travel + Leisure Asia, the revised charges are only applicable to visas on arrival and were announced by Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

What Is The New Visa Fee?

As per the new revised structure, travellers opting for a single-entry visa upon arrival must pay USD 30 (₹2,772), which was previously USD 25 (₹2,310). The visa will continue to allow a 30-day stay and is valid for a single entry.

As per NDTV, Egypt has not introduced a new visa sticker despite the increase in charges. The fee hike is only applicable to the visa-on-arrival category, while other application routes remain the same. Passengers who apply for e-visas through Egypt’s official site will continue to pay the existing charges.

The price of a multiple-entry visa is set at USD 60 (₹5,500), which has not been revised. The change follows a significant surge in Egypt’s tourism sector. The country welcomed close to 19 million tourists in 2025, making it one of the strongest years for travel and tourism.

As per the news portal, the officials have indicated that the revised fee is a broader effort to manage tourism in the country while building infrastructure as visitor volumes grow.
