The iconic singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after developing a chest infection. The unfortunate news was confirmed by her son, Anand Bhosle.
Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away
On April 11, the iconic singer developed a chest infection, after which she was taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. According to India TV, the Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee experienced exhaustion and was admitted to the emergency unit of the hospital. But on April 12, the singer breathed her last at 92 in the hospital. The news of her passing has left millions of fans mourning and marks the end of an era for the Indian music industry.
The news was confirmed by her son and also by Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs, Ashish Shelar. According to News18, her mortal remains will be kept at her residence from 11 am to 3 pm on April 13. The last rites will take place at Shivaji Park at around 4 pm.

Singer Was Recognised With Prestigious Honours
Asha Bhosle was one of the most iconic playback singers of the Indian music industry, and her death is undoubtedly a huge loss to India. She was born on September 8, 1933, and began her career at a very young age. The singer is known for thousands of songs in languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati.
Some of her hits include Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Dum Maro Dum, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, and Dil Cheez Kya Hai. Her songs had the power to make anyone groove to her tunes. According to Zee News, Asha Bhosle was recognised with several prestigious honours. This included the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest recognition in cinema.
