The clip, posted by an X user @photo5065, shows a woman extending her hand out of a safari vehicle to take a selfie on her phone. Suddenly, a lion runs toward her, grabs her arm between its jaws, and drags her out of the moving vehicle. 

The lion in the video appears to continue attacking as others scream and shout for help. The clip, which has gained over 14 million views, instantly went viral online. Many users were naturally terrified and questioned the safety of jungle safaris. But the truth is, the video is fake and AI-generated.

AI Tools Confirm It’s Fake

Many users were quick to call out the video as fake. One commented, “Two minutes of silence for all the people in the comments who think this is real,” while another joked, “This one almost looks real. Y’all are getting really great at this.” Some users even tagged Grok, a tool that helps fact-check real-time social media content. According to Grok, the lion’s movements and facial expressions looked unnatural, confirming it was AI-generated.

It should also be noted that if such an attack had really occurred, it would have made headlines. No reports exist about any such incident. The woman’s identity, location, and other details remain a mystery, all signs that point to the fact that the video is indeed fake. Still, many users commented that AI has become so realistic that it’s getting harder to tell what’s real or what’s fake. And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
