PM Narendra Modi is in Odisha today, and his visit is turning out to be one of the most important ones for the state in recent times. In Jharsuguda, he will launch and inaugurate a wide range of projects worth more than ₹60,000 crore. These projects touch almost every aspect of life, from mobile connectivity and railways to healthcare, education, skills, and even housing for the poor.

Stronger Telecom Connectivity:

According to NDTV, one of the biggest highlights of today’s announcements is the commissioning of over 97,500 mobile 4G towers, built using Swadesh technology. These solar-powered towers will connect around 26,700 villages that had no network coverage.
Railways:
PM Modi will be laying the foundation stone for new projects and dedicating completed ones to the nation.
- A Rail Flyover at Sambalpur-Sarla to ease congestion.
- Dedication of the Koraput-Baiguda doubling line and Manabar-Koraput-Gorapur line.
- Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Udhna (Surat) will be launched.
Education:
The Prime Minister’s visit also brings good news for students.
- A massive investment of ₹11,000 crore will go into expanding eight IITs: Tirupati, Palakkad, Bhilai, Jammu, Dharwad, Jodhpur, Patna, and Indore, NDTV reported. This expansion will create capacity for 10,000 new students in the next four years.
- Eight brand-new research parks will encourage youth to work on creative projects.
- Over 2.5 lakh students will gain access to Wi-Fi in more than 130 higher education institutions.

Development, Innovation, And Inclusion

Skilling Youth:
- Odisha Skill Development Project Phase II will be launched to prepare young people for future jobs.
- World Skill Centres will be established in Sambalpur and Berhampur. These will cover areas like AgriTech, Renewable Energy, Marine, Retail, and Hospitality.
- Five ITIs will be upgraded to Utkarsh ITIs, while 25 ITIs will be turned into Centres of Excellence, NDTV reported.
- A brand-new Precision Engineering Building will train students in advanced technical skills.
Healthcare:
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for upgrading MKCG Medical College in Berhampur and VIMSAR in Sambalpur into world-class super-speciality hospitals.
Housing:
As per NDTV reports, PM Modi will also reach out to the most disadvantaged families by distributing sanction orders to 50,000 beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana. This scheme ensures pucca houses and financial assistance to rural families in need.
From telecom towers in the remotest villages to world-class hospitals, from fast trains to new research hubs, today’s visit by Prime Minister Modi marks a day of transformation for Odisha. For Odisha, the foundation stones laid today will be the building blocks of a stronger tomorrow.
