Ganeshotsav is just around the corner, and for devotees in Mumbai and Pune, this time of the year is all about celebrating Bappa, pandal hopping, and soaking in the festive atmosphere. Mumbai Metro To Extend Services For Ganeshotsav
According to Hindustan Times, Mumbai Metro Lines 2A, that is the Yellow Line, and 7 (Red Line) will run late into the night and add 12 extra services to handle the festival rush this Ganeshotsav. Expecting hundreds of thousands of people to visit pandals during the 10-day festival, the MMRDA made this announcement to ease congestion and offer a reliable option for late-night commutes.
As per the announcement, from August 27 to September 6, the Mumbai Metro is adding 12 extra trips daily to ease congestion during Ganeshotsav. The last trains will leave Andheri West (Line 2A) and Gundavali (Line 7) terminals at midnight rather than the usual 11 PM.
During the week, metro services will go from 305 to 317, with trains running every 5 minutes 50 seconds during peak hours, and 9 minutes 30 seconds during non-peak hours. On Saturdays, train services will be 256 services, while on Sundays, there will be 229 services. Additional trains may be introduced if required.

Pune Metro Also Extends Service Hours
Pune Metro has also decided to extend its service hours during Ganeshotsav. It will be operational till 2 AM from August 30 to September 5. Metro services will be available for 20 hours every day for the seven days. Furthermore, the city metro will operate continuously for 41 hours from 6 AM on September 6 to 11 PM on September 7 for Anant Chaturdashi. Between August 27 and August 29, Pune Metro will operate during normal hours from 6 AM to 11 PM.
