Moreover, India Post plans to eliminate middlemen through this initiative. This will ensure that farmers receive a greater share of the final sale price and expand their reach into metropolitan markets.

To make it easier for consumers in Mumbai to order these GI-tagged mangoes, orders can be placed through QR codes and WhatsApp. Cash on delivery is also available, making it easier for small-scale mango producers to participate in this initiative without major infrastructure costs. According to PIB, these mangoes will be freshly sourced and carefully delivered to people at their homes in Mumbai.
The initiative will support rural livelihoods while offering Mumbaikars premium-quality mangoes at competitive prices. The best part is that it will become more convenient for people to get these GI-tagged Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes in Mumbai.
