“Got This Week’s Oil Ration,” Bangalore Woman Slams Umesh Dosa Point For Oily Vadas; Netizens React

Imagine ordering dosa, idlis, and vadas for a comforting lunch at home. It’s the best kind of food: light, tasty, and satisfying. But not everyone might experience the same. A Bangalore woman recently shared her experience after ordering dosa and vada from Umesh Food Point in the city, only to find oil leaking from the vada! Here’s what happened and how netizens reacted.

Customer Shares Shocking Video of Oily Vada From Umesh Food Point

An X user recently posted a clip of her plate showing dosa and vada she ordered from a local restaurant. Sounds delicious, right? But wait till you know more. The vada was so full of oil that when the user squeezed it between her hands, at least 5-6 spoonfuls of oil came out of it! The steel plate even looked shiny from all the oil dripping off.

The user sarcastically captioned the video, “Got this week’s oil ration (bonus: reused oil with extra smell) at just ₹50 thanks to Umesh Refreshments.” According to her post, the vada wasn’t just oily but also had a strong smell. It was ordered from Umesh Refreshments or Umesh Food Point located in Indiranagar, Bangalore, a popular South Indian eatery known for serving idlis, vadas, dosas, and filter coffee.

As expected, netizens had a field day in the comments section. One user joked, “Is that rasgulla sugar syrup??” referring to how drenched the vada looked. Another wrote, “Bro, this vada looks like it’s been deep-fried in 2020 lockdown oil and revived for round two. These ‘refreshments’ joints out here running on the same oil since Independence Day, proudly serving cholesterol with chutney.”

Someone else commented, “You should have kept it a secret… now Dubai merchants will buy this restaurant for oil supplies.” Another also wrote, “Are you sure that’s not a Gulab Jamun?”

While most of the comments were hilarious, some trolled the user for complaining about oil in a deep-fried dish. But let’s be honest, vadas can be oily, just not that oily that oil drips like water from them!
