“How Are We Expected To Live?” Armaan Malik Expresses Concern Over Mumbai’s Poor Air Quality

On December 12, Mumbai’s AQI crossed the 150 mark, recognised in the ‘poor category’. The rising dust and smog in the city has led to many citizens suffering from breathing and allergy issues. Raising concerns over the city’s poor air quality, singer Armaan Malik took to X (formerly Twitter), requesting BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) to take steps to resolve the issue.

Armaan Malik Flags Off Mumbai’s Poor Air Quality

Armaan Malik left no stone unturned in his latest X post to draw attention towards Mumbai’s deteriorating air quality and concerning high AQI. In his post, the singer mentioned that the air felt heavier with each passing day. He personally witnessed many people fall sick in December not due to the chilly weather but the air quality. The dust and smog being the main culprits. Kids, elders, everyone is coughing, wrote Armaan.

He questioned how people in Mumbai are expected to live, work or even feel safe. “We can’t air-purify our way out of a crisis,” he wrote. Moreover, he called for real solutions from those in charge. In his next post, he tagged BMC and requested the civic body to look for concrete solutions as it’s affecting everyone.

Netizens Echo His Sentiment

Armaan Malik even expressed his love for his city deeply. A place he calls his home needs to have living conditions that are healthier and sustainable for everyone, he reasons. What he really wants is an improvement in the quality of life for Mumbaikars. Netizens echoed his statement in the comments section.

A person wrote, “I am having cold and cough since last month, and I have been doing all home-made remedies, and taking medical pills, still no complete recovery. The air quality has been degraded a lot in North India.”

Others asked him to visit Delhi, were the situation is a lot worse. A commenter posted, “Agree.  There’s a lot of dust in my city too, Because of the dust allergy, I end up coughing a lot as well. It’s honestly so tiring..”
