According to Hindustan Times, Hyderabad Police raided an illegal bakery unit in the city on March 25 that was allegedly using rotten ingredients and harmful chemicals to produce baked goods. The unit was operating in Katedan, a major industrial area in South Hyderabad. During the raid, police seized large quantities of spoiled eggs, chemicals, bakery products, synthetic colours and flavouring agents, along with machinery used in the manufacturing process.
In a post shared on X, Hyderabad Police revealed that the illegal food manufacturing unit was operating under the name “Madhurai Meenakshi Food Company.” The unit was allegedly selling adulterated items as genuine products and was run by three individuals, who have now been apprehended. Large quantities of spoiled raw materials, including eggs, along with hazardous chemicals, were found at the site, raising serious food safety concerns.

Police Arrest Manufacturers
According to the X post, “The accused were found preparing donut buns and cakes in extremely unhygienic conditions using rotten eggs and hazardous chemicals such as sodium benzoate, sorbic acid, and PGPR liquid. These adulterated food items were allegedly sold as genuine products, posing serious health risks, particularly to children.”
During the raid, Hyderabad Police arrested three individuals for running the illegal unit. The apprehended individuals are Afridi Ansari (supervisor), Yaseen (manager), and Khatreshan. A case has been registered at Mailardevpally Police Station, and further investigation is currently underway.
