Do you often buy coffee beans to make that perfect cuppa at home? Soon, you will be able to check for the Indian Standard logo, “IndiCof”, on Indian coffee packs, which will assure buyers that they are drinking authentic and sustainably grown Indian coffee beans. Here’s more on the latest development.

Indian Coffee To Get Its Own Logo

For many years, standard coffee certifications came with strict rules designed by Western organisations. But this will soon change. According to The New Indian Express, the Coffee Board of India (CBI) launched a standard logo, “IndiCof”, in 2025, which will now be seen on packets of Indian coffee brands.

There are international coffee standards in the market, but this is the first time that India has released its own set of standards for Indian coffee. CBI Secretary Kurma Rao M shared with The New Indian Express that Indian coffee is unique and shade-grown, which is why there is a need for separate standards at each level, from production to sales.

The set of standards was apparently released last year. It covers certification, cost factors, supply, the value chain based on Indian markets, as well as Indian climatic and geographic conditions. This is why they are different from international coffee standards.

It will be held from February 26 to 28, 2027, in Bengaluru.  Several international and domestic coffee growers, marketing companies and other stakeholders will participate in this event.
