To make railway ticket booking easier and faster, Indian Railways is all set to launch the beta version of the new IRCTC website soon. The website will come with four new changes that will make it easier for travellers to book their train tickets for their next journey. Here’s what you need to know.
Indian Railways To Launch New IRCTC Website
The Ministry of Railways will launch the beta version of the new IRCTC website soon. According to The Times of India, the website will offer a better interface and a faster booking experience for passengers. Most importantly, there will be no more unnecessary captchas, pop-ups, or flashing graphics to interfere with the ticket booking process.
The website is currently being integrated with the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) engine of Indian Railways, which powers railway ticket bookings across multiple platforms. If everything goes as planned, the website may be available in the next few months.

New Website Will Have These 4 Features
According to The Indian Express, the new website comes with four key changes to make it easier for travellers to book train tickets.
- No unnecessary captchas and pop-ups: As we told you earlier, the new website will have no unnecessary pop-ups, flashing graphics, or other distracting elements to ensure a smoother booking experience.
- Seat availability across all classes: The website will show seat availability across all classes in one place.
- Fewer booking steps: The new IRCTC website will have fewer steps to complete a train booking. Fewer steps will make the whole process quicker and more convenient.
- Easier repeat booking: The revamped version will be able to save passenger details, making repeat bookings easier in the future.
Reportedly, in May, Indian Railways also announced that it would upgrade its nearly 40-year-old Passenger Reservation System (PRS) with a more modern and advanced platform from August. And now, with the launch of the new website, it seems Indian Railways is doing its best to make the passenger experience more seamless.
