Director-turned-vlogger Farah Khan never fails to entertain us with her engaging food vlogs. This time too, Farah Khan, along with her cook Dilip, visited her uncle and screenwriter Javed Akhtar and actress Shabana Azmi’s farmhouse in Khandala, Maharashtra. Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi own one of the most stunning farmhouses in Khandala, Maharashtra, which is a 2-hour drive from Mumbai. The couple revealed that they bought this property 15 years ago and named it ‘Sukoon’ (peace).
Their Khandala house is true to its name and is surrounded with giant old trees and lush greenery. Their house also has a grand entrance followed by a garden, which has multiple marble statues and a huge fountain at its centre. Not only this, but the garden also has a separate corner that is filled with different kinds of flowers.
In the vlog posted by Farah Khan on her YouTube channel, the couple gave a full tour of the property and also shared the memories attached to the place. The farmhouse also has a big swimming pool, a large foyer with a high wooden roof, and a huge dining hall. Their house is filled with vintage and antique furniture and artefacts collected by Shabana Azmi.
The couple also talked about how they bought this house solely because of the banyan trees that are more than 150 years old. The house further leads to a backyard, which features two beautiful wooden benches made from tree trunks, preserving their natural beauty.

Showing the house, Farah Khan also revealed how Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar got married in the garden of the farmhouse. Not only this, but Javed Akhtar also talked about how he has come a long way from living on a footpath to owning a huge farmhouse. Then Farah, Dilip, and Shabana headed to their modern kitchen, which had its own hints of old charm, such as wooden cabinets and a kitchen top. In the kitchen, Shabana’s chef cooked her famous meal, Hyderabadi chicken biryani.
