In a shocking incident, a tourist narrowly escaped a wild elephant attack at Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Karnataka. The man, a tourist from Kerala, was chased and pinned to the road by the elephant but miraculously escaped with injuries after the animal retreated. The entire incident was recorded by onlookers at the spot.
Tourist Nearly Trampled By Elephant At Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Karnataka
A viral video captured an elephant charging at a tourist at Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve and nearly trampling him. The man tried to run for his life but was pushed and pinned to the ground by the wild tusker. Somehow, the man managed to escape with some injuries.
In the video, you can spot the elephant on the road, which was crowded with vehicles and people. Suddenly, the elephant charged at the tourist, who was walking along the roadside on foot. A car nearly hit the elephant in the process. The tourist can be seen running for his life before he stumbled and fell. The wild tusker then stepped on him.

Man Rushed To A Hospital
According to India Today, the tourist sustained injuries after being attacked by an elephant at the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. He was rushed to the hospital, and the Forest Department is now trying to trace his identity. Some netizens speculated that the man was trying to click a selfie with the elephant when the incident happened. According to them, the man had stepped out of his car to click pictures, although this claim has not been confirmed yet.
This isn’t the first time a tourist has had such a close encounter with an elephant at Bandipur Tiger Reserve. In February, two young people were chased by an elephant after they tried to click a selfie with it in the Chamarajanagar district. While they escaped unharmed, the incident raised many concerns.

While elephants are naturally calm, they are still wild animals with unpredictable temperaments. While visiting places like Bandipur Tiger Reserve, one should exercise caution to ensure the safety of both humans and animals.
