Kolkata-Bound IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat Found Written In Lipstick

An IndiGo flight headed to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, made an emergency landing on Saturday evening after a bomb threat message, reportedly written in lipstick, was discovered inside the aircraft’s washroom. The plane landed safely and was subsequently moved to an isolation bay in accordance with standard security protocols. Here’s all you about it.

Bomb Scare On Dibrugarh-Kolkata IndiGo Flight

IndiGo flight 6E 6894, operating from Dibrugarh Airport in Assam to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, landed safely at 7:37 PM after a bomb threat message, written in lipstick, was found in the aircraft’s washroom. According to Hindustan Times, the plane was immediately moved to an isolation bay in line with security protocols, and all passengers were safely deboarded. The news later turned out to be a hoax and more details are awaited about the suspicious message that was found inside the flight toilet.

Second Bomb Scare In One Day

The Dibrugarh-Kolkata IndiGo flight bomb scare came hours after another similar threat was found on a Kolkata-Shillong flight earlier in the day. The airport authorities released an official statement on this and said, “Bomb scare in Kolkata to Shillong IndiGo 6E3074, which was scheduled to depart at 9:15 AM, from Kolkata Airport. The aircraft has been moved to the isolation bay. During boarding, crew members found a piece of paper inside the aircraft’s toilet compartment, which stated that there was a bomb inside the aircraft. Immediately afterwards, passengers were removed from the aircraft. The checking process is going on.”

After the passengers were deboarded, the plane was moved to the isolation bay for security checks and after a thorough inspection, the threat turned out to be a hoax.
