With Durga Puja 2025 just days away, Lucknow’s pandals are gearing up for grand celebrations. This year, La-touche Road Puja Sangsad Society plans to showcase a unique Kumbh Mela-themed pandal for their 84th celebration. Here are all the details.
Lucknow Durga Puja Pandal To Pay A Tribute to Kumbh Mela 2025
Months after the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, the iconic Durga Puja pandal of La-touche Road Puja Sangsad Society is set to bring the experience to devotees once again. According to a report by The Times of India, the pandal will pay homage to the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela and display the 13 “Akharas”, representing the saints and ascetics who participate in the event.
From Juna Akhara to Niranjani Akhara and Udasin Panchayati Bada Akhara, the pandal will showcase portraits of the major akharas. Photographs of their “math” (monasteries) and their “mahamandaleshwars” will also be displayed. In addition to that, a massive recreation of the entire mela landscape will pay tribute to the saints, akharas, organisers, and devotees who collectively made the world’s largest religious gathering possible.

84th Annual Celebration Of La-Touche Road Puja Sangsad Society
As reported by Hindustan Times, La-Touche Road Puja Sangsad Society will mark its 84th annual Durga Puja this year. The festivities will take place from September 28 to October 2 on Jogendra Pathak Road near Shivaji Marg. The Kumbh Mela theme has been conceptualised by Niloy Sen, who will personally oversee the pandal’s design and execution.
General Secretary Sanjay Ghosh shared with HT that the puja has always been about tradition and creativity. Moreover, this year, the theme aims to celebrate India’s timeless spiritual unity. An estimated 15,000-20,000 visitors are expected daily over the five-day celebration. The programme will feature cultural shows, social gatherings, and much more. The puja committee plans to organise a community bhog which will include Chochori, Poirer Bhaja, and Chaler Payesh. The festivities will also include Dandiya celebrations and the traditional Sindoor Khela, with active participation from members of the puja community.
