Travelling by train is comfortable, affordable and convenient. But not when you briefly get off, only to see the train doors shut and leave you stranded. This is what happened with a man who stepped out of a Vande Bharat for a hot cup of tea and then watched its automatic doors close, leaving him helpless. The video has since gone viral with netizens posting humorous reactions. Here’s what happened.
A Man Steps Out Of Vande Bharat For A Cup Of Tea
Vande Bharat is a semi-high-speed train operated by Indian Railways. These trains are equipped with modern automatic sliding doors to ensure safety and convenience. These doors offer seamless entry and exit as well. But a recent incident involving these doors is going viral. We have all made train journeys at some point. Getting off at stations is common, too. Travellers often step out to buy refreshments like chips, tea or coffee. But this viral clip might make us think twice.
A post shared on X by @gharkekalesh shows a man on a platform with a cup of tea in his hand as the train’s automatic doors close right in front of him. The man places the cup down and runs towards the motorman’s cabin, hoping the operator might see him. But no, the Vande Bharat begins to move, leaving him stranded.

Netizens React To The Viral Video
The viral video does not disclose the location or timing of the incident. However, it highlights that stepping off a Vande Bharat at stations is not recommended. These trains are designed for quick journeys and have very short stoppages, sometimes even two minutes. Unlike older trains, you cannot open the doors manually. Also, tea and coffee are often served on board, eliminating the need to get off at all.
Many netizens took to the comment section to share what they thought about the incident, and yes, most reactions were humorous. One user wrote, “Still adjusting to Vande Bharat Culture.. !!! We love to loiter on en route platforms.” Another commented, “Bro tea will be given inside, right?” One user left a comment that made us laugh. It read “The DDLJ climax wouldn’t have happened if there were a Vande Bharat train.” One user also commented, “chaipaglu.”

It should be noted that Vande Bharat trains are strict about schedules, safety and timing. They do not wait for passengers, and boarding is not allowed once the automatic doors are locked.
