It is not uncommon for passengers to share their bad travel experiences online. Be it with the airport or the airline, sometimes the issues are so serious that the internet gets involved. But this time, it was not just anyone. It was Mohammed Siraj, India’s international cricketer and right-arm fast bowler. He took to X and called his experience with Air India Express the ‘worst airline experience’. Here’s what happened.
Cricketer Mohammed Siraj Voices Frustration Over Air India Express Delay
It is not every day that a star cricketer voices his frustration with an airline. But Mohammed Siraj got so frustrated that he took to X on November 26 and shared his experience with Air India Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India. Apparently, his flight, IX 2884, from Guwahati to Hyderabad was delayed by four hours. The flight was supposed to take off at 7:25 pm, but failed to take off as per its schedule.
But the delay was not the only reason that left the cricketer annoyed. Siraj also complained that the airline failed to communicate the reason even after repeated follow-ups. No updates from the airline left every passenger stranded without any reason. He also wrote, “Worst airline experience. I really would not advise anyone to take this flight if they can’t take a stand.”

Air India Express Responds To His Post
The airline responded promptly to his complaint. Air India Express stated that the flight had been cancelled due to unforeseen operational reasons. The airline added that its team at the airport was assisting all guests with the necessary arrangements. Air India Express ended its statement by writing, “We understand how difficult this situation is, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be assured that our team will continue to keep you updated and extend all possible support.”
Just like Mohammed Siraj, many netizens under the post complained of the same issue with Air India Express flights. One user wrote, “This has been the common issue with Air India Express flights in most circuits. I faced the same issue with my Srinagar to Delhi flight last month.” Another wrote, “Experiencing a four-hour delay with no communication is incredibly frustrating.”
