Mumbai Airport Sets New Operational Record Again!
The bustling Mumbai International Airport, one of the busiest in the country, continues to push operational limits as passenger movement surges nationwide. According to NDTV Profit, on November 21, 2025, the airport handled 1,036 air traffic movements (ATMs) in 24 hours. The Mumbai Airport recorded 1,036 ATMs, with 520 arrivals and 516 departures. Of these, 755 were domestic flights, and 281 were international.
Airport authorities also noted that alongside the surge in aircraft movement, the day saw nearly record-high passenger traffic as well, with 1,70,488 travellers passing through the terminals. This included 1,21,527 domestic and 48,961 international passengers.
These numbers were quite close to the Mumbai Airport’s highest-ever single-day passenger traffic of 1,70,516, which was recorded on January 11, 2025. The figures underscore the airport’s strong operational capabilities and its growing importance as a major hub for both domestic and international flights.

One Of The Most Efficient Single-Runway Airports In The World
According to NDTV Profit, Mumbai Airport is one of the world’s busiest single-runway airports. As per the airport authorities, the new operational record is due to the strong winter and festive season travel demand, which has been pushing India’s aviation sector to new limits.
November 21 saw heavy domestic traffic driven by cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. On the international front, routes to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London Heathrow, Doha and Jeddah witnessed particularly strong demand.
