The newly opened Mumbai Metro 3 connects Aarey to Cuffe Parade. As per Mid-Day, its stations have multiple access points at major hubs, including BKC, Dadar, and CSMT. The Aqua Line optimises smoother travel, easy accessibility, and reduced crowding. With 128 gates across its stations, it is now one of the most accessible rapid transit lines in the city. Here’s an easy and handy guide:

  • Key hubs such as SEEPZ, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, CSMT, and Churchgate have six to eight gates each, connecting commuters directly to offices, residences, railway stations, and landmarks.
  • The terminal Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai has four gates linking it to Navy Nagar, World Trade Centre, and Colaba landmarks.
  • Metro stations like Vidhan Bhavan and Hutatma Chowk have eight exit gates each, the highest on Mumbai Metro Line 3.

As per a report by Mid-Day, this wide distribution of gates will help reduce rush hour jams at stations like Dadar Railway Station and CSMT. These alternative entry and exit points will facilitate a large volume of passengers. Getting the hang of the gates might be confusing at first, but daily commuters will eventually become accustomed.

The launch of Mumbai Metro Line 3 marks the first time in decades that a rail-based transit system has been deployed in South Mumbai. The new line is also designed for seamless integration with major suburban railway hubs, including CSMT, Churchgate, Grant Road, and Mumbai Central, offering convenient interchanges for lakhs of daily commuters.
