NHAI Hikes FASTag Annual Pass Fee; Here’s What You’ll Pay From April 1

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has now revised the rate for the FASTag Annual Pass for the upcoming financial year 2026-27. The cost has now been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for non-commercial vehicles. The new rate will come into effect from April 1, 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about this.

What Is FASTag Annual Pass?

Before we get into the details, let us briefly explain what a FASTag Annual Pass is. The pass by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) was designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. It was rolled out on August 15 last year at ₹3,000 for up to 200 toll crossings or a full year’s travel, whichever comes first. In short, it’s a one-time payment scheme that allows commuters to travel on highways and expressways.

But according to a report by The Times of India, NHAI has now decided to increase its rate by ₹75. With this revision, the FASTag Annual Pass will now cost ₹3,075. The revision in the fee has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

How To Purchase This Pass?

According to The Times of India, the FASTag Annual Pass already has over 56 lakh users. The revised rate will apply to eligible non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag seeking to avail the Annual Pass facility at about 1,150 fee plazas on National Highways and National Expressways. The annual pass is quite beneficial and convenient. Users just have to pay a one-time amount instead of recharging their FASTag frequently.

You can purchase it easily through the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI website. Just enter details like your vehicle number and FASTag ID, pay the amount using UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking, and you are done. You will receive an SMS confirming the activation. It’s super simple!
