Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman offered prayers at the famed Tirumala Temple in Andhra Pradesh during her visit on Friday. She visited the hill shrine with her family and also took part in the temple service by distributing Annaprasadam to devotees, as part of the temple’s customary practices.
Nirmala Sitharaman Serves Prasadam At Tirumala Temple
On September 12, Nirmala Sitharaman visited the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala with her family. According to Deccan Chronicle, the heads of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) welcomed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and accompanied her into the sanctum sanctorum for darshan.
After offering prayers at the temple, the Vedic pundits at the temple even recited Vedaseervachanam in the Ranganayakula Mandapam. Later, the temple authorities presented her with the Theertha Prasadam and a laminated portrait of Lord Venkateswara.
After praying, Nirmala Sitharaman visited the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex in Tirumala and served prasadam to devotees. Her official X account, Nirmala Sitharaman Office, posted a series of her pictures serving prasadam at the temple complex.

Interacted With Volunteers As Well
After serving meals to devotees, Nirmala Sitharaman even interacted with devotees and Srivari Sevaks who were engaged in service activities. According to Deccan Chronicle, in the TTD feedback book, she described the experience of sharing the meal with devotees as “heart-touching.” She also praised the Srivari Sevaks for their role in assisting the large number of pilgrims visiting Tirumala and appreciated their dedicated service.
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is one of the most visited and revered Hindu shrines in the world. Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the temple is visited by thousands of devotees from across the globe every day. The shrine is famous for its grand rituals, offerings, and the famous laddu prasadam.
