Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently appealed to citizens to avoid buying gold for at least a year to protect India’s economy. But what about the girls who will be becoming brides this year? A makeup artist has now gone viral for creating a unique bridal look featuring vegetable jewellery instead of gold, and honestly, the look might totally bowl you over.
Bride Ditches Gold To Wear Vegetable Jewellery
Gold jewellery has always been a big part of Indian weddings. But when PM Narendra Modi recently asked Indian citizens to avoid buying gold for a year, many new brides started discussing alternatives online. A makeup artist, @glamwithrakhisingh, recently uploaded a video on Instagram of a bride being decked up in jewellery made entirely of vegetables. Yes, you read that right.
The video shows the bride wearing a necklace, ring and nose ring made of bitter gourd and French beans. But the bright red tomatoes placed on her bun are what truly stole the show. The unusual vegetable jewellery attracted praise for its creativity from many netizens online. The makeup artist also wrote, “Modi ji ki baat to maan ni padhegi.”
