Noida Govt Approves ₹500-Crore Project
According to a News18 report, the new corridor is expected to ease traffic congestion, cut travel time and improve connectivity for nearly five lakh residents across Greater Noida. The proposed road will benefit people living in around 75 group housing societies, 25 residential sectors and 20 villages. According to the Noida Authority, CEO Krishna Karunesh told the portal that the initiative will not only provide major relief to daily travellers but also support planned urban development along the riverfront.

The new route will improve connectivity to sectors including 94, 124-135, 150-155, 158, 159, 163, 164 and 168. Villages such as Raipur, Bakhtavarpur, Asgarpur Jahagir, Sultanpur, Shahpur Govardhanpur, Rohillapur, Chhaprauli, Mangrauli, Mohiyapur, Badoli, Gulawali and Momanathal are also scheduled to profit from the project.
Key Benefits Of The Noida Expressway
As part of the scheme, an existing 11.2-km four-lane road across the Yamuna embankment is already being improved at a cost of ₹34 crore, with ₹11 crore released so far. The new proposal also includes widening the Yamuna doab stretch into a four-lane road and constructing a fresh 17-km four-lane corridor along the Harnandi doab.
The new road will extend up to Sector 150, where it will connect with the existing 75-metre-wide road from the Kondli-Bangar side, creating a seamless alternative route for commuters.
Authorities stated that large-scale land acquisition is unlikely because the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department already controls a 22-28 metre wide strip along the doab, which is enough for the project. Where additional land is required, the officials have said it is ready to compensate landowners.

Currently, nearly 10 lakh vehicles use the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway every day, resulting in heavy traffic during peak hours. Officials believe the new riverfront road will significantly reduce congestion while supporting future residential and commercial growth in the rapidly developing Yamuna-Harnandi doab region, including areas around Sports City and JP Wish Town.
