Not Bhaang, Lucknow Residents Were Eating Cannabis Aloo Tikkis From A Stall Until Police Caught A Whiff

In what seems to be a bizarre incident in Lucknow, a few residents from the city had been frequenting a local street food vendor for their Aloo Tikki fix. At first glance, it looked like a regular street food stall. But with the cannabis being sold in secrecy, and the police involved, things weren’t what they seemed. It wasn’t bhaang, a potent cannabis preparation that customers flocked to. Instead, it was cannabis laced Aloo Tikkis and chutney that were served, eaten and later detected by the police. Here’s what happened.

As per a report by News18, the police raided a street food stall in the Mohanlalganj area in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. On inspecting the food served at the stall, the police realised that the 42-year-old vendor, Pramod Sahu, known for serving lip-smacking Aloo Tikkis and boiled eggs, was lacing his signature tikkis and chutney with cannabis.

Officials noted that Sahu was running a kiosk where he secretly mixed his Aloo Tikkis and chutney, among other food items, with cannabis. He would later serve them to his “loyal customers” or “trusted patrons”. Moreover, small packets of the drug were handed over to these customers in secrecy. The report by News18 also throws light on another incident that happened on the same day.
