Major Fire Breaks Out At Thrissur Railway Station
A major fire broke out at around 6:30 AM and was first noticed by a woman staff member of the parking management. And at around 6:45 AM, the distress call was received by the authorities. Soon, she alerted others, and the fire and rescue personnel from Thrissur Station rushed to the spot. But by the time they reached, the flames had already spread rapidly, as the two wheelers in the parking lot were closely packed. As it happens, a group of youngsters did gather at the spot attempting to douse the flames using a fire extinguisher, but they failed since the bikes had been parked in very close proximity.
Around 400 Two-Wheelers Destroyed!
Revenue Minister K Rajan visited the site and had sought a report on the incident. It’s worth noting that a major tragedy had been averted as the fire had been noticed by the staff in time. Otherwise, it could have resulted in a severe disaster. It’s worth noting that no casualties were reported, and the train services were not affected as the fire had been brought under control within half an hour. However, it is expected that more than 400 vehicles were destroyed in the fire.

Fire Brought Under Control In Half An Hour
It’s worth mentioning that a report of the Times of India has stated that this blaze is suspected to have been caused by a spark from an electrical line, which fell on two wheelers that were covered with a protective sheet, which triggered the fire. With three fire tenders rushing to the spot, this fire was brought under control by 7:45 AM, as mentioned in the same report.
It’s worth noting that all the precautionary measures had been taken to ensure the flame does not spread to the railway station platform. However, the shed, which was made of tin sheets were badly damaged.
