A video has gone viral on social media exposing a new scam in Goa: a jet-ski scam! Yes, you read that right. A user recently uploaded a video on Instagram showing how some jet-ski operators are cheating tourists under the guise of a thrilling water ride. Here’s more on this.
Viral Video Exposes Goa’s Jet-Ski Scam
Goa is one of India’s most popular destinations, known for its beaches, nightlife, shacks, and exciting water sports. However, Instagram user @udanchuu2.0 recently uploaded a video captioned, “Goa scam on water rides,” exposing the reality behind these watersports in the state, especially jet-ski rides.
Jet-skiing is a popular activity where tourists are accompanied by an instructor to ride a motorised watercraft on the sea. In the video, the user calls it “Goa’s biggest scam” and shows a tourist boarding a jet-ski. The instructor only circles briefly in the sea, before returning her to the starting point. Shockingly, the ride lasts less than three seconds, despite the tourist having paid for a full package. The video warns others to avoid such jet-ski rides in Goa.

Netizens React To This Scam
You should also know that these jet-ski rides usually last just 2-3 minutes. Prices start at ₹399 and can go up to ₹1500, depending on the package and location. Several beaches across Goa offer these rides, but, honestly, the clip shows that a 2-second ride is barely worth ₹100. Don’t you think?
Many netizens reacted with outrage, sharing comments that echoed the same frustration. One wrote, “Goa tourism dropped a lot nowadays,” while another added, “Ye to shuru hote hi khatam ho gaya”. Some suggested reporting the operators to the official Goa Tourism website, while others were simply shocked by the short ride. Clearly, tourists do not want to pay for experiences that barely last a minute!
